Rachel Platten WILDFIRE
I have made a playlist on youtube you can listen to the whole album at the end of this post.
Stand By You Is the first song on WILDFIRE and starts the album out with a bang! Heres the video, which is also great. She looks great and the song has an awesome message, and I think with this song she is going to overcome just having 1 hit (fight song), as it is currently (as I write this) in the top 40 of the billboard charts. I wake up with this song in my head all the time! "if your wings are broken borrow mine so yours can open too."
Of Course we know the song-Fight Song which has become a real anthem for anyone going through any struggle. I love this song and have from the moment I heard it. The video is also done really well, which I have included below.
She also performed Fight Song with a girl named Caley, who is 16 and was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer (when she was 15) on the ELLEN Show. This whole thing made me cry, and this is when I fell in love with Rachel. Get your tissues ready!
She also stopped by the Today Show where she performed another one of my favorite tracks, my guess probably her next single. Speechless Take A Listen
Hey Hey Hallelujah-With Andy Grammer is a fun song. She starts out loud and proud, with a big band a small country influence. Take a listen!
You don't know my heart-What a great song. Fun pop song with another really good message.
"Hey my fists are tight and I'm afraid.......I don't wanna use my mouth. Don't know how to spell it out. Every time I try, it's sucks. To just wish you could open me up. And see-e-e all the confusion. And love and hurt and wrong words I'm using.Cause tonigh"t, It feels like...
Take a listen
Beating Me Up- I am guessing this will be a single. Starts out with such a great beat and forceful lyrics. The song gets even bigger from there, and could very well become an anthem.
Take a LISTEN!
Better Place-Starts out with just a Piano. Starts out with a great melody, and her voice is so soothing. This is a MUST listen. I loved this song from the first listen.
Here is a performance of it just with her and piano! This is her next single.
Here is the Album VERSION -Take A listen.
Long Ranger-this song has a country influence for sure. I can see a bunch of people around a camp fire just blaring this song and having a blast!
Crank it up at your next bonfire
Angels In Chelsea-This is her save the world song. A song about people doing amazing things. Its really inspirational. Another Beautiful Song From Rachel.
Astronauts-This is a song about getting away, and letting your loved one know that you will be the one who is there for them no matter what. She states "lets go save a planet."
"I'll be what you want-when everything is gone."
Superman-Another really great song. This is about fighting a battle, and helping someone through it. Letting them know they are not alone.
"you don't have to be superman-you don't have to hold the world in your hands, you've already shown me that you can."
Congratulations-This is quite a soulful song. With big beats and sharp lyrics. She gets a little angry and isn't afraid to let them know she is done.
"the pounding in my chest is begging for protection....-help me find a sharper knife, I need to Cut you out of my life...."
Overall I give the cd 4.0/5.0 Stars. Its a great cd, with lots of good songs. You can tell a couple of the songs are filler tracks which might have been better suited as B-Sides-but overall solid effect with some real stand out moments.
You can listen to the full cd on youtube with this playlist below!
